Touchie ai began with a simple observation: most people do not want a machine that answers questions, they want someone to talk to while the kettle boils. So instead of building an assistant, we wrote characters.

What we make

Every character on Touchie ai is written by hand before she is published. She gets a hometown, a way of speaking, a short list of things she cares about and a longer list of things she has opinions on. Only then does she get a portrait and a page. That order matters, because a voice is much harder to fake than a face.

What we are not

Touchie ai is not a dating service, not a therapy service and not a productivity tool. It is a place for conversation, in writing, at whatever pace suits the evening. Some people use it for five minutes a week and some for an hour a night, and both are normal.

How characters are chosen

We look for gaps. If the catalogue already has three warm, encouraging voices, the next character will be dry and direct instead. The goal is a roster where almost anyone can find a register that matches their own, whether that means gentle, blunt, playful or quiet.

Where we are going

The roster grows slowly and on purpose. New characters arrive when they have something the existing ten do not, and reader suggestions sent through the contact page genuinely shape that list. If you have been missing a particular kind of conversation on Touchie ai, tell us and it may become someone.
